The main goals of the Volunteer Interpreters Program: 

• To facilitate optimal communication at parent/teacher conferences, particularly when families are new to Canada, the English language and the Canadian school system 
• To meet school needs for effective communication and interpretation beyond what in-house support personnel such as the Multicultural Liaison Workers and other support staff are able to do
