The Science Department is made up of a diverse group of teachers, all of whom make their own experiences a part of the learning community that is Churchill Secondary School. Our teachers use their unique interests and abilities to enhance the student learning experience in a variety of ways such as the incorporation of information technology, cross-curricular activities combining science and literacy or science, mathematics and art as well as project based learning opportunities such as Science Fair Projects. Our goal is to provide students with a relevant, enriching and exciting learning experience that involves and engages all students and addresses a variety of learning styles. We firmly support the use of laboratory work and other hands-on activities in the development of laboratory skills, scientific knowledge and critical thinking – skills that we believe will serve students well in all of their future endeavours.
