Are you in the Churchill Catchment?

Please check your home address in the school locator link to verify that your address falls in the Churchill Catchment for both regular and French Immersions programs. School Locator

GR. 7 STUDENTS CURRENTLY RESIDING IN THE CHURCHILL CATCHMENT (FROM VSB SCHOOL)

Students who reside in the Churchill catchment and attend a VSB elementary school will be given the application form from their elementary school in January. Please submit the completed registration form, along with required documents, to your elementary school office by Tuesday, February 11, 2025.


GR. 7 STUDENTS CURRENTLY RESIDING IN THE CHURCHILL CATCHMENT (FROM NON-VSB SCHOOL)

For grade 7 students who attend a Non-VSB school and reside in the Churchill catchment, registration form is below.  Please follow the application steps below:

Step 1:  Complete the online application. 

Step 2:  Prepare required documents:

  • COURSE SELECTION FORM: Gr 8 Application form for non-VSB schools. For course descriptions, click here: Gr 8 Course Electives
  • CHILD'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE (copy)        
  • ID of BOTH PARENTS (Driver License, Cdn Passport/VISA, Permanent Residence Card)
  • PROOF OF ADDRESS:  Residency is required by Custodial Parent or Legal Guardian - Custodial Parent or Legal Guardian must be ordinarily a resident in British Columbia with a sufficient degree of continuity to ensure that there is a settle purpose other than to obtain free public education:

    Please provide ONE of:

    • Mortgage Statement - showing legal name and address
    • Subject-free property purchase agreement (move in date within 6 months) - showing legal name and address
    • Property tax statement/BC Property Assessment - showing legal name and address
    • House or Contents Insurance Policy – showing legal name and address

    And TWO of:

    • Utility bill (internet/cable/cell phone/hydro/gas) showing legal name and address
    • BC Driver’s License/BC ID
    • BC vehicle registration (pages 1 & 2)
    • Canadian bank account/credit card statement - showing legal name and address
    • Re-direction Information from Canada Post - showing legal name and address
    • Income Tax statement - showing legal name and province of residency
  • COPY OF GR. 7 FIRST REPORT CARD 

Step 3: Submit all documents in-person to the Churchill Main Office.

Documents to submit:

1.  VSB Student Application Form from the "Apply Now" registration

2.  Course Selection Form

3.  Copy of Child's Canadian Birth Certificate

4.  Copy of Parents' ID

5.  Copies of proof of address (3 documents as indicated above)

Students Returning to Churchill (attending VLN)

If you are still living in the Churchill catchment, your child previously attended Churchill and is currently registered at VLN, please follow the application steps:

Step 1:  Prepare required documents:

          CHILD'S GOVT ISSUED CANADIAN IMMIGRATION / VISA DOCUMENT (copy)

  • ID of BOTH PARENTS (Driver License, Cdn Passport/VISA, Permanent Residence Card)
  • PROOF OF ADDRESS:  Residency is required by Custodial Parent or Legal Guardian - Custodial Parent or Legal Guardian must be ordinarily a resident in British Columbia with a sufficient degree of continuity to ensure that there is a settle purpose other than to obtain free public education:

    Please provide ONE of:

    • Mortgage Statement - showing legal name and address
    • Subject-free property purchase agreement (move in date within 6 months) - showing legal name and address
    • Property tax statement/BC Property Assessment - showing legal name and address

IN-CATCHMENT APPLICATIONS (Gr 9-12 STUDENTS CURRENTLY at ANOTHER VSB SCHOOL)

or 

IN-CATCHMENT FRENCH IMMERSION APPLICATIONS (Gr 9-12 STUDENTS CURRENTLY at ANOTHER VSB SCHOOL)

If you are living in the Churchill catchment and your child already attends another VSB school, please follow the application steps:

Step 1:  Complete Transfer Form from your current school.

Step 2:  Submit Transfer Form to your new school.

Step 3: Prepare required documents:

          CHILD'S GOVT ISSUED CANADIAN IMMIGRATION / VISA DOCUMENT (copy)

  • ID of BOTH PARENTS (Driver License, Cdn Passport/VISA, Permanent Residence Card)

IN-CATCHMENT APPLICATIONS (Gr 9-12 students who born in Canada and attended a NON-VSB school in Canada)

Registration is a TWO STEP process. 

Step 1:  Complete the online application. 

Step 2:  Prepare required documents:

  • REGISTRATION FORM: Grade 9-12 Catchment Student Registration Form - from non VSB schools.  Please TYPE in your information then print and sign.
  • CHILD'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE 
  • ID of BOTH PARENTS (Driver License, Cdn Passport/VISA, Permanent Residence Card)
  • PROOF OF ADDRESS:  Residency is required by Custodial Parent or Legal Guardian - Custodial Parent or Legal Guardian must be ordinarily resident in British Columbia with a sufficient degree of continuity to ensure that there is a settle purpose other than to obtain free public education:

    Please provide ONE of:

    • Mortgage Statement - showing legal name and address
    • Subject-free property purchase agreement (move in date within 6 months) - showing legal name and address
    • Property tax statement/BC Property Assessment - showing legal name and address

Step 3: Submit all documents in-person to the Churchill Main Office.

IN-CATCHMENT APPLICATIONS (for students NOT BORN IN CANADA or students BORN in Canada but HAVE NOT attended a Canadian school)

Cross-Boundary Applications
