Library / Learning Commons
"It is, however, not to the museum, or the lecture-room, or the drawing-school, but to the library, that we must go for the completion of our humanity. It is in books that bear from age to age the intellectual wealth of the world" - Owen Meredith

Destiny Discover - Point Grey Library Catalogue
Point Grey's library learning commons connects our students to information and ideas. It is both a resource and teaching centre with a highly specialized, balanced collection which seeks to meet the needs of students and curricula. Books abound, of course, but we also carry DVDs, magazines, and newspapers. We are proud of our wide selection of current, high interest fiction. Further, we have thirty computers with Internet access. A powerful, wide assortment of remote access databases are available for research - anywhere, anytime. A library has never been more important in our ever increasing information-based society, and our library strives to meet the traditional as well as the emerging literacies of the twenty-first century. During our students' five years at Point Grey, we will build their information literacy skills and help them to evolve into life-long learners.

Point Grey's Library Learning Commons is an integral part of our evolving school curriculum -- a curriculum that is designed to stimulate, encourage and develop the learning of each individual student. Since each student's learning style is unique, a large collection of printed and audio visual materials is available in the centre to improve reading, listening, viewing and research skills. The materials and services encompass all subject areas, all ability levels and varied recreational interest for both staff and students.
