Automotive Collision and Refinishing
The Vancouver School Board partners with Vancouver Community College to offer the SkilledTradesBC Youth TRAIN in Trades Automotive Collision and Refinishing Technician program.
Program Details
This program is taught at Vancouver Community College (Broadway Campus) and runs from September to May.
The School District covers the cost of tuition. However, students are responsible for purchasing their own books and materials.
Please note that students must be in grades 10 or 11 to apply for Youth Train in Trades programs. Grade 12 students may apply for Youth Train in Trades only if they can complete their program before they finish grade 12. Students should submit their application to Career Programs by March 1.

Course Contents
Students will learn how to: repair or replace damaged auto parts; apply primers and repaint surfaces; and use hand tools and specialized automotive repair equipment. Students will also learn how to access vehicle damages, make repairs, restore damaged metal frames, and remove and replace damaged sections.
