The Vancouver School Board partners with Vancouver Community College to offer the SkilledTrades BC Youth TRAIN in Trades Heavy Mechanical Trades program. 

Program Details

This program is taught at Vancouver Community College and runs for 36 weeks. The program runs from September to May. 

The Vancouver School Board will cover the cost of tuition. However, students will be responsible for purchasing their own books, materials and U-Pass.

Please note that students must be in grades 10 or 11 to apply for Youth Train in Trades programs. Grade 12 students may apply for Youth Train in Trades only if they can complete their program before they finish grade 12.

 Course Contents

Students will learn how to access vehicle damages and make repairs; restore damaged metal frames; and remove and replace damaged sections.
