The Vancouver School Board partners with BCIT to offer the SkilledTradesBC Youth TRAIN in Trades Metal Fabricator program.

Program Details 

This full-time program is taught at BCIT (Burnaby campus) and runs for 23 weeks, February to July.

The School District covers the cost of tuition. However, students are responsible for purchasing their own program learning resources and equipment.

Please note that students must be in grades 10 or 11 to apply for Youth Train in Trades programs. Grade 12 students may apply for Youth Train in Trades only if they can complete their program before they finish grade 12.

Course Contents      

Students will be introduced to the theory and practical skills necessary to be competent in basic steel fabrication methods.
