2024/25 KPAC Elections

As part of our commitment to fostering strong parent-school partnerships, we are excited to announce the upcoming elections for the Parent Advisory Executive Committee.

The Parent Advisory Executive Committee plays a crucial role in representing the voice of parents in our school community. Members of this committee collaborate with school administration to provide valuable insights, feedback, and suggestions on various matters that impact our students’ education and overall experience.

We invite all interested parents to consider running for a position on the committee. Serving on the KPAC is rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in our school community and contribute to the decision-making process.

Nomination Period:

Nominations will be open from April 15, 2024, to May 29, 2024. Parents interested in running for a position should submit their nominations during this period. The nomination form can be submitted to killarneypac@gmail.com. 

Positions Available:

Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Co-Secretary, Co-Treasurer

Election Process:

Information about candidates will be shared at the May monthly KPAC meeting on May 29, 2024. Please see attached handbook for election information.

Commitment:

Members of the KPAC are expected to attend regular meetings and actively participate in discussions and initiatives throughout the school year. 

We encourage all parents to consider taking part in this important opportunity to contribute to our school community. Your involvement and engagement are essential to our collective success.

Direct Drive Fundraiser

Welcome to the 2022-23 School Year! As we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and get back to a sense of normalcy, funding for extracurricular activities is more important than ever.

If you are able, please support our Direct Drive Fundraising Campaign. Your donation will permit enhancement of activities such as:
Music and Drama Programs 

• Robotics Club
• Athletics 
• Library
• General

The Killarney Secondary School Parent Advisory Council (KPAC) uses the annual gaming grant received from the Province to fund a variety of extracurricular clubs and activities. These extracurricular activities can have a positive influence on a student’s academic performance and personal development while building social skills and self-confidence. The funding requests submitted by staff usually exceed the amount of funds available. There are also some expenditures that are not eligible for gaming funds and are supported by PAC fundraising activities. By making a donation, you can enrich your children’s learning experiences.

Official tax receipts will be issued for a minimum of $20 donations.

HOW TO DONATE:

Option A: Online

You can now donate online and receive your tax receipt immediately. Go to your School Cash Online account, log in and look for the MAKE A DONATION button at the top of the page:

1)            Choose from the list of donation amounts, or enter a specific amount.

2)            Choose S-Killarney PAC from the dropdown list.

3)            Click on “Add To Cart”

4)            Click on Continue and follow the instructions to pay

Option B: Cash or Cheque

Download and complete the Killarney PAC Donation Form and drop it off with your cash or cheque (payable to Killarney Secondary School) to the school office. Your tax receipt will be mailed to you.
